Abstract:

Bertram, Ciocan-Fontanine and Fulton proved the rim-hook rule for doing multiplication in the (small) quantum cohomology ring of the Grassmannian, by providing a map from H*(Gr(k,2n)) to QH*(Gr(k,n)). We provide an equivariant version of this rule. This means that we can take advantage of the nice combinatorial methods for doing computation in HT*(Gr(k,2n)) to do computations in QHT*(Gr(k,n)). No prior knowledge of any of these gadgets will be assumed. This is joint work in progress with Elizabeth Beazley an Kaisa Taipale.
