• 10/7: Statistics for prelim 1: max 100, Q3 97, median 84, Q1 78.5, min 30, mean 84.2. A table about the correspondence of scores to grades in this course (approximately) can be found here.    
• 10/2: New policy: use of laptops and other mobile electronic devices during lecture is not permitted. Violations will incur negative participation points for each instance. These will influence the final course score (in a manner to be determined).

• 10/2 Solutions to Prelim 1 have been posted on the Blackboard website. 
• 9/24 Solutions to practice prelim 1 and to the random variable review have been posted on the Blackboard website. A second practice prelim can also be found there. 
• 9/20: Some general notes about preparing  for prelim 1 are here.   A practice prelim 1 and some random variable review exercises have been posted on the Blackboard website. Solutions will be posted later. 
• 9/6: There have been problems with installing ActivStats on Macintosh computers. For a solution, follow the  link from Pearson Higher Education for a version of our software that runs on Mac OS Lion (10.7) and Mountain Lion (10.8). Please look at "Information for ActivStats users" - there's a download link and instructions there. You still need the ActivStats serial number from the copy of Activ Stats you bought in the campus store. Here is also a link to Frequently Asked Questions from Data Description, the producer of ActivStats and DataDesk.
• 9/5: Room change for Prelim 1: now in  BKL 119, Baker Laboratory 119 
  (attention: Baker Laboratory, on East Ave, is not to be confused with  Baker North, Baker South or Baker Tower, which are on West Ave)
• 8/28: The first office hours of Prof. Nussbaum on Fri, 8/30, are at a nonregular time: 1:15-2:15. Thereafter, M, F 2:30-3:30 as announced.
