20. EXPONENTIAL  GRAPH

 

The key to drawing finite pieces of the exponent graph is to link a multiplicative scale in y direction with linear scale in x direction.

 

 

A beautiful way to construct a multiplicative scale, i.e. geometric progression, is to use the simple mechanism of an angle geometric progression. 

Start with any angle ABC and a point P on BC. 

Draw successive perpendiculars from  P to AB then back to BC and so on.

If you tie the construction to the graph, you can plot the appropriate x,y values.
