Honors Introduction to Analysis I
Prerequisites and a short description
- Prerequisite: high level of performance in MATH 221-222,
223-224, or 192 and 294 and familiarity with proofs
- Description: Introduction to the rigorous theory underlying
calculus, covering the real number system and functions of one variable.
Based entirely on proofs. The student is expected to know how to read and,
to some extent, construct proofs before taking this course. Topics typically
include construction of the real number system, properties of the real number
system, continuous functions, differential and integral calculus of functions
of one variable, sequences and series of functions.

News: homework will now be due on Thursdays. In particular, homework 3 is due Thursday
February 21 (so you have 2 extra days) and homework 4 is due Thursday Feb. 28.

- No homework will be due on Thursday 13 March, but there will be homework due on
Thursday 27 March (the first Thursday after Spring Break).
- News: Prelim 2 was handed out in class on Tuesday 8 April and is due on 17 April.
Important news! The final exam will take place at 9am on 13 May. The exam will last 150 minutes and will consist of 5 questions. The room is RF128. That's 9 am, 13 May, RF128. Please do not miss the final as it counts towards your grade! Please see me if you have a clash, so that we can arrange an alternative time to take the exam.
