Cornell University - Fall 2007

Time and Location

The Fall 2007 Finite Element Circus will be held at Cornell University on October 19-20. The Friday session will take place from 1:30 PM to 6:00 PM and the Saturday session will start at 9:00 AM. The first few talks on Friday will be in room 406 of Malott Hall. The remaining talks on Friday, as well as those on Saturday, will be in room 253 of Malott Hall.

There will be a buffet style dinner, "The Tuscan," at 7:00 PM on Friday in the Statler Hotel, a few yards away from Malott Hall. The price is $30 per person. If you plan to attend the dinner, please indicate so when registering and mail a check to Lars Wahlbin, Department of Mathematics, Malott Hall, Cornell University, Ithaca NY 14853.

There will be a free lunch, "The New York," at 12:15 PM on Saturday, also in the Statler Hotel.

Malott Hall is located at the corner of Tower Rd. and Garden Ave. in block C-4 on this campus map. The Statler Hotel is in block C-5.

Accomodations

There are several nearby hotels. Only the Statler Hotel and Hillside Inn are within reasonable walking distance.

Update: Most of the hotels in Ithaca are sold out for the night of Friday October 19. Blocks of rooms have been held under the group name "Finite Element Circus" for the nights of both Thursday October 18 and Friday October 19.

Parking and Transportation

Parking options are indicated on this campus map. Parking permits can be purchased at the information booths. On Saturday, parking is less restricted. The area has a bus service. Those staying at the Econo Lodge and Ramada Inn may take routes 30 and 32. Those staying at the Comfort in may take route 67.
