Grading: Out of a total of 250 points: There will be two preliminary exams, each worth 50 points,
and a final exam worth 100 points. Your homework grade will count for 25 points and your section grade
will count for 25 points (quizzes e.t.c).
Homework and Quizzes: Write homework solutions carefully, using good English, complete sentences, adequate detail, and so on. Write your name on the first page. If an assignment requires several pages, please staple and number all pages. Quizzes will be announced in advance in class; there will be no make-up quizzes.
Exams: Exams will be taken without the aid of your textbook. Calculators are allowed, but any other aid is prohibited. Here is the exam schedule:
First preliminary exam, Monday, February 25th (in class).
Second preliminary exam ,Wednesday, April 23th (in class).
Final exam, Monday, May 12th (time: 9:00-11:30am, room: Malott Hall 251).
Code of conduct: Discussion about the course in general and the homework is strongly encouraged. However, you should write up your homework sets by yourselves; copying solutions from each other violates Cornell's Code of Academic Integrity and is strictly prohibited.
