Teaching Program Visiting Faculty Positions
Two or more half-time visiting positions for mathematics professors
on sabbatical or other leaves from colleges, universities, and engineering
schools will be available for the academic year 2008–2009. Candidates
with substantial experience teaching undergraduate mathematics courses,
and with teaching and research interests compatible with current faculty,
are sought. Successful candidates are expected to pursue a program of
study and/or research at Cornell. Cornell's strength in pure and applied
mathematics, computer science, operations research, and statistics provides
an opportunity for mathematics professors to sharpen their teaching and
research skills. The normal duties are to teach two identical freshman
classes of approximately 25 students each semester. Salary will be at
least $39,300 plus fringe benefits for half-time academic year appointment.
