EducationM.S. (1971) The University at Albany Research Area: StatisticsI am generally interested in the teaching and learning of mathematics. I coordinate Mathematics Department outreach efforts that bring department members together with K–12 students for enrichment activities and with teachers for professional development opportunities. I also lead workshops for current and pre-service teachers and teach a graduate course for prospective secondary math teachers. Currently I am active in the development of pedagogical initiatives for undergraduate statistics and have co-authored three textbooks. My most recent presentations at NCTM Annual Meetings (National Council of Teachers of Mathematics), the Advanced Placement National Conference, and AMTNYS conferences examined random variables, linear regression, and strategies for teaching statistical inference.
