Spring 2010 TA PreferencesTeaching PositionsInstructional TAs are needed to cover several lectures of calculus (MATH 1110). One lecture is a full-time job. Some prior classroom teaching experience is required. Recitation TAs are needed for MATH 1106, 1710, 1910, 1920, 2130, 2210, 2220, 2240, 2710, 2930, and 2940. In addition to teaching and grading, recitation TAs may be expected to assist with some of the administrative aspects of the course.
Consult the Spring 2010 Class Schedule for lecture and recitation times. Non-teaching PositionsA graduate student is needed for MATH 1600 to help facilitate discussions during one day of lecture per week. Contact Bob Strichartz for details about what the job entails. This job will be at least half time and may be full time if enrollment is high enough. A preliminary determination about the size of the job will be made after pre-enrollment ends on November 6. Half-time czar's assistants are needed for MATH 1110 and MATH 1120 to help the czar manage administrative aspects of the course — e.g., website, coordinating requests for make-up/extended time exams, communication with other instructors, supervising undergraduate course assistants (includes conducting meetings every other week). Graduate student graders will be assigned to most 3000- and 4000-level courses and some graduate courses. Courses with low enrollments may be assigned part-time graders, but two part-time assignments can be combined to provide full support. Last modified:October 21, 2009 |
