The first part of the course will be an introduction to Lie groups and
Lie algebras. In the second part part of the term I will cover a topic
which is of particular interest to the audience. The possible choices
include (but are not limited to): more about compact Lie groups, symmetric
spaces, finite dimensional representations of compact Lie groups, analysis
on semisimple Lie groups.
