Time & Room
MATH 711 in Fall 2004 will be a course on Riemann surfaces.
MATH 612 or a similar course about analytic functions of one complex variable
will be a prerequisite.
I have not yet chosen the topics to be covered. They will
be a proper subset of the following list.
-
The uniformization theorem and hyperbolic Riemann surfaces
-
Riemann's theorems about the theta divisor on the Jacobi variety
on a compact Riemann surface
-
Quasiconformal homeomorphisms between Riemann surfaces
-
The complex analytic properties of the Teich\-m\"ul\-ler space
of a hyperbolic Riemann surface.
