Math 751
Berstein Seminar in Topology
Fall 2002
Instructor:
Karen Vogtmann
Time: MWF
11:15-12:05
Room:
Malott 205
The aim of this course is to introduce students to a currently
active topic in topology which is not routinely covered in other courses.
The course is run as a seminar, in which students present the material
to each other. This will be done at a level accessible to anyone who has
completed the usual first-year sequence of graduate courses, including
Math 651. I will present short descriptions of several possible topics
during the first week of classes, and the students will choose one of
these to concentrate on for the rest of the semester.
