Title: The Lefschetz property for barycentric subdivisions of shellable
complexes.

Abstract: We show that the barycentric subdivision of a shellable
complex satisfies an almost strong Lefschetz property. From this result we
can deduce that the g-vector of the barycentric subdivision of a Cohen-Macaulay
complex is an M-sequence. The obtained algebraical result can be further
used to derive new inequalities on a refinement of the Eulerian statistics
on permutations where permutations are grouped by the number of descents
and the image of 1.
